I have been an Elvis fan since the Louisana Hayride, have bought lp's 45's, and cd's, and have loved everything that he had done, but this cd is awful. Everything is in double time, not a musical term, I don't think , and is just terrible. I would never have bought this recording IFI had known that all he seemed to want to do was just get it over with. This is a really good live album from Elvis in His band rocks with the best of them and Elvis delivers some of his best vocals.
There is tremendous energy in every track, and the musical arrangements showcase a great ensemble. A tremendous bottom end in the horn section propels You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' to new dimensions, while the intro, a space odyssey sets the tone for an upbeat musical experience. One person found this helpful. The best of Elvis! I first got this on cassette tape in and played it over the years until the tape wore out.
This reproduction on CD from the Saturday, June 10th show, sounds even better and compiles some of his best songs. If you are an Elvis fan, do yourself a favor and buy this if you don't already have it in your collection, you'll be glad you did.
I love this CD but i wish it had a little more of his interactions with the band and the crowd.. Although the songs and music are as good as Thats the way it is..
Elvis the singer aces this CD but the person is missing.. Was looking for his introductory music beginning with Space Odyssey. It was great as was the additional song tracks!'Elvis As Recorded At Madison Square Garden' Vinyl 2 LP: Being released on November 13, to coincide with the DELUXE CD/DVD 'Prince From Another Planet' - the new double-vinyl LP repressing of Elvis "As Recorded At Madison Square Garden" will ONLY feature the June 10th EVENING performance by Elvis.
