The packaging is very nice and of high quality. Mine came in a plastic two disc case. This album is a timeless album that everyone should have in their collection. Even beyond the mega hits there are a wide array of fabulous songs on here. The entire record is consistently brilliant.
It's a highly dynamic and faithful remaster that is well worth your time. It's also well worth your hard-earned cash. I've heard previous releases of this album more times than I would even want to count, and this record was already 4 years old when I was born!
Accordingly, I'll leave the track-by-track recounting of the wonders of this classic record to the professional writers, and suffice to say that this is a classic record for a very good reason. This 2-disc set includes the entire original record, remastered yes "again", but better - more on this in a bit and a second disc of alternate versions of some of the album's songs plus "Keep Yourself Alive", also remastered. Since there are really only two kinds of people considering a purchase of this album, and one group those who haven't heard it will presumably buy this version anyway since it's the latest "official" version, I'll address "the question" that I assume the other group the ones who have heard, and possibly still own, a previous copy is asking: "Why should I buy this new version?
They're cool, but even for dorks like myself they're not really essential. The real answer is, this re-master absolutely rocks. By which I mean, it's carefully and diligently enhanced the clarity and detail of the original recordings well beyond the capabilities of technology used on - and for the reproduction of - previous releases. The sound quality is spectacular; when a friend played me his copy, I heard new details all over the album that I'd never noticed in the last 20 years of listening to it over and over again.
I think I fall into the third group of people "considering" this purchase: those who've heard, and possibly even own, previous releases, but heard this one and knew they had to have it because it really does make the old versions sound muddy and dated. If you like this record, or think you'll like this record, get this version. SO worth it. This is my favorite Queen album - and I guess a lot of people's being that this ws their breakthrough album.
The bonus tracks include a remake of "Keep Yourself Alive" - about the same but with drums a little louder and the guitar line processed or something. The Capella section of "Bohemian Rhapsody" isolated with no other backing. This band is rock in roll. They have an artsy side and it shows. But their music is always a symphony. If their was such a thing as rock and roll symphonies. They are poetic and their writing is good enough to be a damn good movie.

Mercury You suck my blood a leech You break the law and you breach Screw my brain till it hurts You've taken all my money - you still want more, Misguided old mule With your pigheaded rules With your narrow-minded cronies who are fools of the first division - Death on two legs - You're tearing me apart, Death on two legs You never had a heart of your own - Kill joy, Bad guy, Big talking, Small fry You're just an old barrow-boy Have you found a new toy to replace me, Can you face me - But now you can kiss my ass goodbye Feel good, are you satisfied Do you feel like suicide I think you should Is your conscience all right Does it plague you at night, Do you feel good - Feel good!
Talk like a big business tycoon, But you're just a hot-air balloon, So no one gives you a damn, You're just an overgrown school-boy Let me tan your hide. Know all, Was the fin on your back part of the deal Death on two legs You're tearing me apart Death on two legs - You never had a heart of your own, You never did, right from the start Insane, you should be put inside, You're a sewer-rat decaying in a cesspool of pride Should be made unemployed Then make yourself null-and-void, Make me feel good I feel good. While many Queen songs up to this point were driven by Brian May's guitar riffs, "You're My Best Friend" was powered by a phased-out Fender Rhodes piano (when the song was played live, however, Freddie Mercury would replace the Fender Rhodes with a regular piano, as heard on 's Live Killers).
